CCTV life

The olympica are not far away, the monumental buildings arise, but the everyday life continues as usual in the streets of Beijing. And even if more and more of its inhabitants can afford a car, some still choose the bike to travel, breating the heavily polluted air.

Another funny observation when in Beijing is that those who finally can afford the luxury of a car still drive like they bike. Its back and forth, left, right, brake, accelerate and sneak in the lines of the highways. But we didn't see much accidents, they never drove fast, they just mingled, just like on the sidewalks.

The last snow 1

The last snow series was shot in easter 2008 at Kongsberg Gravlund just after it had fallen over 40cm of snow in just a few hours. The series (which has some more pictures than shown) symbolizes the final resting place, a quiet place. Perfect and untouched.

Reconstruction 1

Når økonomien går godt, skal alt pusses opp, bygges om og utvikles til boliger. Gamle Schous bryggeri på Grünerløkka er intet unntak. Om boligene blir brukbare gjenstår å se, men byggeplassen er iallefall flott nok for meg.

Hardangervidda påsken 08

Siden jeg ikke akkurat er en naturens mann må jeg benytte sjansen til å ta et vinterbilde fra togvinduet på vei fra Oslo til Bergen. Været var nydelig, skiføret var sikkert også bra, men for meg holdt det lenge med 1/250 sekund lukkertid på Rolleiflexen for å bli lykkelig.

Bilbao light

Dette bildet ble tatt siste dagen jeg var i Bilbao i april i år. Det var tildlig en søndags morgen og vi stod og ventet på drosjen som skulle ta oss tilbake til Calatrava's kjente flyplass. Så plutselig kom solen over byggene og traff damen som helt sikkert var på vei til kirken.

Newspaper reader in Soho, Beijing

This picture is also from Beijing, taken by the site of the plannes NO+CH festival in the SOHO area, with my Rolleiflex Automat X camera.

It occured to me as a everyday situation, a different use of public space than I was used to see from European cities. It was also a very hot and polluted day and this worker had found a piece of shadow to take a lunch rest.
